Rezumat
Viaţa sexuală a pacienților cu stome a fost puţin studiată în literatura de specialitate. Două tipuri de factori sunt implicaţi în deteriorarea activităţii sexuale postoperator: factorii psihologici care ţin în principal de felul în care însuşi pacientul îşi percepe imaginea de sine şi factorii fizici reprezentaţi de leziunile nervoase care pot să apară în timpul intervenţiei chirurgicale, a chimioterapiei şi radioterapiei. Intervenţia terapeutică trebuie să vină concomitent cu informaţiile privind îngrijirea stomei sau la cererea pacientului. Rolul cel mai important în acest proces de învăţare revine asistentei stomaterapeute şi echipei care îngrijeşte pacientul.

Abstract
Studies on the sexual life of patients with a stoma are rare. Two types of factors are related to the deterioration of post-operative sexual activity: psychological factors, which are mainly related to the self-perception and self-image of the patient and physical factors, which are related to nerve damage that may occur during surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. A therapeutic intervention should – depending from questions of the patient – include information on stoma care. The most important role in this process has the stoma therapist nurse and the team, that cares for the patient.
